Stand By Me - 25th Anniversary Blu Ray

There's no doubt that one of the greatest movies from the greatest decade was Stand By Me. Released in 1986, this movie is doubly nostalgic! Our generation has our own fond memories of watching this great movie a quarter of a century ago, and yet our parents enjoyed the movie as well because it took them back another 30 years to the 50's, when the movie was set, reminding them of their own childhood.  Needless to say, it has appealed to all generations, and still is.  One indication of the movie's ongoing popularity is the recent release of the 25th Anniversary Edition on Blu-ray.

To celebrate the release, four of the original cast, and director, Rob Reiner, were reunited for an interview - for the first time since the 80's.  Here's a couple of minutes of what Wil Wheaton said was close to an hour interview:

I found a few sites worth checking out.  This article on a new blog I found, Retroland, includes the original movie trailer. Here's a brief post about the reunion, including a brief update of each of the stars.  And, this is as close to an "official" movie website I can find:  www.standbymemovie.com.

Finally, if this post has left you wanting, buy the 25th Anniversay Blu-ray here.
